Subject wise rooms make you think..
- Interesting, but doesn’t this take a lot of time?
- How do they know where to go? Do they get lost?
- Do they get tired?
- How do new students manage in this system?
Lets see!
Lets see!
Walnut students have a full, balanced, and busy school day. Every day includes some part of each of these activities:
| Activity Category | Subjects & Activities |
| Core Academics | English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Marathi, Hindi |
| Skill Development | Reading, Speaking, Mental Math, Science Lab |
| Strategic Thinking | Computational Thinking, Strategic Thinking, Mental Ability, General Knowledge |
| Physical Fitness | Daily Sports |
| Creative Exploration | Theatre, Arts, Library, Language Arts |
All of these require specialized spaces, furniture, materials and equipment.
Since Walnut is a bagless school, students can’t bring these things from home : and they obviously can’t keep carrying them around either.
So, Walnut students have different classrooms for different subjects. Students don’t just sit in one classroom all day. They keep moving to specialized classrooms for each subject. That makes this busy, packed day possible.
How does that work?
- Students know which class they have next.
- Next class timetable is posted on the OUT door.
- Movement takes about 3–4 minutes between classes.
- Acts as a natural break between subjects.
So how does all this help then?
Why this is important?
So how does all this help then?
- Refresh & reset → students can stretch, use the washroom or sip water.
- Fresh till the last bell → energy and focus stay high throughout the day.
Why this is important?
- Research shows that movement and change of environment boost focus and learning outcomes.
- At Walnut, this is built into the timetable.
- Students get a mental and physical reset every period.
- Each classroom’s new environment re-engages their attention.
- Even in the last period, the class is lively, energetic, and attentive.
Having subject wise classrooms is possible only with a learning system like ours and a properly executed plan.
